This book and 1946, BPRD, along with X-23 and a new Wolverine book are some of the great comic books I have read lately. BPRD are more in the weird tales/horror genre and the others, y’know, mutant superheroes…

“The heart of the Path is so simple. No need for long explanations. Give up clinging to love and hate, just rest with things as they are. That is all I do in my own practice. Do not try to become anything. Do not make yourself into anything. Do not be a meditator. Do not become enlightened. When you sit, let it be. When you walk, let it be. Grasp at nothing. Resist nothing....

Name The Time Hack Location Washington DC The Time Hack is an experiment aimed at exploring whether our perception of time is influenced by our actions. Research suggests our perception of time is partially dependent on the amount of new experiences we have during a given day. Journalist Matt Danzico is testing this theory by taking part in a new and unusual experience every day this...

Everything Itself is Buddha
This passage from a talk in 1967 by Shunryu Suzuki at Tassajara has been helping me this week:
“We say everything has buddha-nature, so we have to treat as a buddha. To say “everything has buddha-nature” is not appropriate, because if I say—to say—if I say everything has buddha-nature, then [?] buddha-nature and everything is dualistic. Actually, everything itself is buddha. ...

“In film, if we fail to provoke an audience, we fail a medium that is obliged to more than entertainment, with its power to be big cultural medicine. And when we fail, that is due to our reliance on cliché. So here’s a cliché that you often hear in the NGO community, here’s a cliché that is as Hollywood as anything I’ve ever seen and should be given its final coffin now:...
“It would be really nice if the ramblings of crazy people didn’t resemble how we talk to each other on TV,” he said. “Let’s at least make troubled individuals easier to spot.”
